Gateway laptop, running Vista Home Premium, SP1, using ATT's Broadband
service & their GT Ultra Express card.
There are times that I cannot connect to the internet, the software will
show that it's connected, but the Network & Sharing Center will show an X
between Network & Internet.
I have talked to ATT's tech support, who says it's a Vista problem.
I have talked to Microsoft, who says it's either a Gateway ot ATT problem.
I have talked to Gateway who says it's a Microsoft or ATT problem.
I have searched Google & can't find my exact situation, most of them deal
with home woreless routers, etc.
In the event viewer, I am seeing a message that says something along the
lines of;
'The IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for the network card with the network
address (MAC address) has been denied by the DHCP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
(The DHCP Server sent a DHCPPNACK message).
Is the laptop trying to renew its last used address & finding it not to be
available?
If so, how can I prevent or change this?
Any other advice gladly appreciated!
