Hello,
This may be the way all things occurred -
After downloading and using, 'Google Earth,' the computer was working
satisfactorally. Later, after UPDATING 'Google Earth,' a major malfuntion
occurred. I ran a diagnostic check with an automatic pop up program of an
MSN troubleshooter. The troubleshooter reported that I had a problem with an
ATI program or 'ATI thinga-ma-jig' that was associated possibly with a game
download.

Other problems occurred after that report:
in that the screen went blank and an automatic restart occured
and in that the computer ran the internet sluggishly

After uninstalling 'Google Earth,' the internet can still remain slow.
Lastly, I am wondering about how to correct the previous problem with the ATI
program associated with a possible game download if it is still in need of
fixing. My questions are:

1) I don't know how to find the game that the ATI program
may be associated with, so what do I do?
2) The 'END PROGRAM' window pops up and then the computer
locks up, so how do I correct this?
3) Could the 'Google Earth' UPDATE have caused the malfunction that
the computer stated to begin with?
4) What is ATI?
5) Is the ATI program or ATI control or ATI Corporation associated with
the 'Google Earth' Update?

Please Help,

Starman, ATI refers to your video card or chip on Motherboard. It could
also be your Motherboard chipset. Go here and
download and install PC Wizard. It will give you an audit of your PC
hardware.

have post the info here.

3) Could the 'Google Earth' UPDATE have caused the malfunction that
the computer stated to begin with?

Yes. Did similar to my setup when I tried it. I uninstalled it. Then
uninstalled, reinstalled my ATI drivers and software.

Google Earth is a program from Google. Interesting application but not
critical to computer operations.

ATI is a company that makes hardware and supplies drivers and software for
using that hardware. You need your hardware to work correctly. Avoid
software that does not "play nicely" with your hardware or the drivers and
software for that hardware.
