Problems with aspx links

Can anyone out there tell me why my Internet Explorer will not open links
with the .aspx extension? The link in question is easily accessable from my
next door neighbour's machine but comes up with "Cannot display Page" error
on mine? There must be a setting somewhere - but what is it and where is it?
I am running Windows XP Home edition with SP2.

There is a new Security option (in Miscellaneous section)
which might be affecting this:

Open files based on content, not file extension

What do you and your neighbour have there?
