I have bought a card Club 3D NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT with 128 MB AGP. I
have it mounted in a motherboard ASUS K8v-x, a AMD SEMPRON 3100+ and 1GB
of memory KINGSTON DDR400. When I install Windows XP and I install
drivers that comes with the card (Forceware 71,20) or the last ones of
NVIDIA (Forceware 77,22) as the manufacturer advises, I am with the
following problem: The computer is blocked, sometimes I can in this
situation to move the mouse nor that sometimes. It remains blocked by a
time and in some zone of the screen (randomly) the image is degraded.
Spent east time, the screen happens to black and to the pair of seconds
it returns the image from the writing-desk of Windows and I can continue
using the computer until the following time that happens to me. I have
installed Windows 2000 Professional to prove. With this system, if I
install last drivers (Forceware 77,22) I have the same problem that with
XP. But if I install drivers that come with the card (Forceware 71,20)
the operation is totally correct without giving no problem. I do not
know if the problem is drivers (it seems most evident) or the card. But
the card works to me now and drivers is those of NVIDIA and I do not
believe that everybody that has a 6600GT has east problem. It would be
thankful if somebody could give some idea me. To say that in spite of
to have sent two messages to the manufacturer of the card, I have not
obtained any answer. Thank you very much.
