Problems w/ computer microphone

Hey,
I just bought a Altec Lansing behind the neck headset
w/ mic and it's not working properly! I can hear things
but I can't talk to anyone. Plz help
 
Jordan, is there any tweaks you can make in Classic Control Panel>Sound
and Audio Devices. Click on the Voice Tab.
