Hi. I have had a problem with my D-Link ADSL USB Modem which I tried
uninstalling using the CD but got this error: 'Errorloading newdev.dll' and
clicked ok. All files from the hard drive on my WinXP SP2 Thinkpad T20
laptop have now gone (It no longer appears in Control Panel, Add or Remove
Programs and no icons remain in Start, All Programs). The problem is that I
cannot now reinstall using the CD due to the above error again followed by:
'DSL Modem Setup Wizard: The DSL modem is already installed. To upgrade the
software, you must remove the current software and then run setup again
later' but as far as I am aware it should have been uninstalled already. Is
there any way I can get the modem reinstalled or will I need to completely
reinstall WinXP on my laptop? It
seems that it was not uninstalled correctly for some reason and I have no
idea how to get it back. I bought another modem to try out but my laptop
thinks it's the same old modem again when I try to install it(!?) Many thanks
and regards. Steve Bolton
