Jim,
As you suggested, I installed all the patches available. It made no good but
bad. Ealier file transfer between the two machines was unreliable, now it
stopped completely.
But the error is now different:
The specified network name is no longer available.
It turned out that pinging Desktop from Laptop returns "Timed out", no
matter whether pinged with the name or with IP address (the one which is
returned by ipconfig on the other machine)
Laptop is pingable from Desktop, and both can ping the router. Both access
Internet.
Run ipconfig /release and then /renew, reinstalled IP protocol - no effect.
Where I should loot into?
