I`m having a problem sending emails, I can receive them fine.

When I send an email this is the message I have been getting.

E-mail Connection Lost
One or more e-mails cannot be sent

After you verify your computer is connected to the Internet, McAfee
recommends that you resend those messages from your e-mail program.

I spoke with my IP but so far no help with this one.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem with out disabling McAfee...any
suggestions welcome.

No, the problem can not be fixed without disabling McAfee. Even Microsoft
is now advocating uninstalling McAfee. See the post "Re: McAfee" by
"bilglas".

-- I had the same problem and spent a long time with Verizon trying to
resolve
the issue. I tried to contact McAfee to no avail. They want $2.95 per
minute. Finally i pulled out my set up directions from verizon and
discovered that there was a check box to select stating that "My Server
requires authentication" and another box in "Settings" to verify "Use same
setting as my incoming mail server". The only problem is that these were
directions for Outlook Express and I dont remember whether I ran my CD from
Verizon again or used Vistas setup program to set up authentication

Hi

I had the same problem. the virusscan was hiding the solution from me. in
your e-mail account tick for outgoing authentication.

if this still does not work, disable viruscan in mcafee as well as the above

thank you so much!! I was having this same problem and the info posted here
worked perfectly! Finally!

I`m having problems receiving emails in my in box if they contain
attachments.

What setting do I have to change in order to receive them, just trying to
same myself some time figuring everything out!

Thanks for your help.

Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

I'm on cable. I receive mail okay but some e-mails I send do not go through. I've talked to Suddenlink and they tell me it is a microsoft Vista problem. Anyone else have this problem? I have Vista Home Premium #32. Frustrated.

Define "do not go through."
Do you mean the message appears to send fine from your end,
but the intended recipient claims they never received it?
If so, do you receive a bounce notice?

Or do you get an error message when you attempt to send?
If so, give us the exact error message.
