Whenever I type a contact name in the search box, I get an error message
saying it can't be found. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something
that needs "tweaked"? Any help will be appreciated!

You provided no information. At a minimum we would need to know:
1. Outlook version
2. Which search method you are using and in which view
3. What the precise error message is
4. Whether this search method ever worked for you.

I apologize for the oversight. I am using Office 2003. Others in the office
have been able to access contacts by using the search box in the past, but
lately we have not been able to.
The error message says: "Outlook could not find the requested contact".
On my computer, I have never been able to find a contact using this method.
I am using the "Show Views In Navigation Pane".
Thanks for your help!

We're not much closer. To which "Search box" might you be referring? What
information store are you using--Exchange mailbox or a local PST file?

The search box I am using is the one on the toolbar that says: "Type a
contact to find" on the right side of the toolbar.

Then you need to ensure that you have the Outlook Address Book Service
installed and configured correctly to search the Contacts Folder in
