Made a new PC, Gigabyte k7 Triton with a AMD3200,
Maxtor 80gig IDE drive, ATI all in wonder Radeon.

I'm running WINME which I used on my old system.

I can use the pc for a while but for no reason the screen
will go black, no signal to my screen. I hit escape and
then the pc will (sometimes) reboot itself.

I was ordering some stuff online and as I filled out the
checkout form the PC went black on me.

Never had this before with previous pc's I've built!!

Can anyone help?

TIA

WILD GUESS . . . you recycled the case and power supply from a previous
system, right? If not, sounds like the brand new power supply is WAY
under-sized. -Dave

Power supply is underpowered.

Monitor is bad.

Files are corrupt in the OS.

You definitely should get rid of the WIN ME. Win98 SP2 is a better OS
than WinME!

This could easily be the WinME. ME has the option to revert to a
previous setting like WinXP. You might try that!

Win Me has a couple of faults, it's driver database is limited, and it is
lousy as an upgrade, but as a clean install, it's fine, and fast.

Wild but very WRONG, every upgrade I buy a new case with power supply.

As for the monitor, it;s a brand new Dell monitor.

Winme is slightly better than Win98SP2 which is an
OS I happen to like, in fact I was running it when the
problems started but I have got WinME up because
Win98 isn't very good with the latest Nortons package.

I have checked the Bios, even updated it.
