I have a slide show that I created on MovieMaker vers 2..1.4026.0 that I
would like to save to my computer. It is 28 minutes long, 560 pictures, 11
songs. When I try to save it to my computer is comes up with 571168 minutes
remaining and then doesn't seem to do anything. I've left it alone for an
hour and nothing changed. Do I need to change some setting?? My original
slideshow was 1 hour 9 minutes but I broke it in two parts to try and get
around this. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance.

Depending on your resources...one hour may
not be nearly long enough. Unless you receive
errors...let it run...maybe it will complete.

Otherwise...you'll have to reduce the size / complexity
of the project. Or...as you say...split it into sections.

It also may help to close all programs before opening
Movie Maker and doing some maintenance might
be worth a try if you have not done it recently:

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.

(check the two boxes..."Automatically fix file
system errors" and "Scan for and attempt
recovery of bad sectors") the utility will run
the next time you restart your computer.

no errors)

John's got this one 100%
One way to tell if it is a complexity problem is to try to save the movie
using a low quality setting
such as the "Video for Pocket PC" settings and see if that works.
If not then there is likely another problem such as a problem with the
type(s) of clips your using
but if it does save then complexity is probably the issue so try splitting
the project into more pieces
and save it. I have more info on this on my website.

Indications are:
The 560 pictures are of a file type that WMM is not happy with?
Or the 560 pictures are a mixture of differing file types that are
"confusing" WMM?
The 11 songs are also of a file type that WMM is not happy with?
What file formats are you using for pix and audio?
Have you tried converting the audio tracks to WMA?
Have you tried converting the pix all to bmp?
WMM is "happier" if images are bitmap and audio is WMA.

You type "when I try to save it to my computer"?
What exactly are you doing?
Is it a "project" you are trying to save?
Or have you successfully produced a video clip of the
slideshow in WMM, but when trying to save it as a WMV
or AVI this is when the problem arises?
