Problems saving document

When I attempt to use the pulldown arrow to select the
folder I want to save into, its like the program freezes
for approximately 40 seconds. If i wait the 40 seconds
then i will be able to select the folder to save the
document.

I dont want to wait 40 seconds to save files. please help.

I'll see this, on occasion, when my CD drives haven't been
run yet, and they contain a CD. It can also happen with a
slower network connection.

You might want to follow up on this in the
word.setup.networking newsgroup where you'll find more
people that understand how the various bits-and-pieces that
make up your computing environment work together.

Be sure to tell them:
- Version of Windows
- Version of Word
- Type of network
- If you ever experience any difficulties accessing
particular drives or folders
