I installed Outlook 2010 and Outlook connector and having problems retrieving
mail, mainly it gives an error for my MSN account. (error 0x8004102A error
with send/receive). When I use Outlook 2010 without Outlook connector it
works perfect and I used the same configuration in Outlook 2007 without any
problems. The progress bar on the bottom right stops and I cannot get any
mail including pop3 accounts and have to restart Outlook several times and
eventually it starts working.

Will the issue be reproduced on another brand new machine? Could you test
on colleague's machine?

I have found related issue where client got the similar symptom, but the
issue happens randomly.
Task 'user@domain' reported error (0x8004102A) : 'Error with Send/Receive.
There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error : 80041004.'

I have reported the issue, and will post at here if there's any related
update

What's the version of your outlook 2010 currently?

Please update the client to the latest patch, and see if the issue still
persists. Please also let me know the latest version that you have updated

Thanks!

I am sure I got everything up to dater as I run automatic updates every 2
weeks and the issue is not going away. I have to restart Outlook many times
before it finally starts working which is very annoying. Since this is a beta
version, I hope the final release will take care of this issue. Is there any
new updated Outlook connector for Outlook 2010?

This is the newest Outlook Connector, version 14.

That is the version I am currently using and it does not work. I always
hangs up when retrieving messages

Please quote the relevant portion of the message to which you are replying so
as not to lose thread context.

Were this happening to me, I'd delete the account, uninstall the connector,
reinstall the connector, and re-add the account. The Live servers aren't
always the most reliable, either.

I tried this many times and reinstalled Windows 7 and only Office 2010 beta
and still no luck. I used the same configuration in Outlook 2007 and it
always worked perfect without ever hanging.

Would you please try to help me with this problem, I been waiting for many
weeks now. As I previously wrote, deleting the account and reinstalling
Outlook connector does nothing. I even tried with a brand new Windows 7
install and only Office 2010 and it does not work.

If you are paying for an MSN account, then contact the people you pay. I've
told you what I have done to fix the problem when I've seen it and it has
worked. You need help more expert than mine.

thank you for your response, but neither one of the links you sent me are
working....

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name
changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I suspect that's because you didn't take the line wrap into effect and just
blindly clicked without looking at what you were doing.

You were correct, but usually when I click on the link it works. I will try
it out
thanks

I followed your instructions and now it does not retrieve any emails with
Outlook connector and I get "limited connectivity".
I was looking for Office 2010 RTM but I cannot find it in the Technet
download section, since I would also need to get a product key.

Here is the error I get in Outlook:

(0x8004102A) Error with Send/Receive
There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error 80041004
(0x80041003) The server reported a temporary error . Error:5102 . Server. Xfs
request 'GetAccountData' failed. Response code: DbError', server response 720

Limited connectivity usually has nothing to do with either Outlook or the
Connector. It's more likely to be a network issue. My most recent
recommendation to you was to contact MSN, since it appears that you pay for
their service. If the most recent Outlook Connector doesn't work for you,
they're your best bet.

The Office 2010 RTM offering is in the Technet downlaod ceter and it appears
straightforward to me to get a key for it if you have a Technet subscription.
I can't explain what you see because I don't know what you see.

About the "Limit connectivity", do you mean there's the yellow warning on
the system tray's network connection?
If that's the place, I agree with Brian. Please check your network, and
solve the limit connectivity issue at first

Could you please help me resolve my problem. I installed the new Outlook
connector and the problems is the same. I was searching for the Office 2010
RTM but in the Technet download section I can only download the beta version.
