Somebody help me please ! For reasons unknown my
windowsXP registry became corrupted and the computer
would no longer boot. I had little options and
even "littler" success in getting support. I reinstalled
my windowsXP - overwriting the original. It worked with
about 75% functional. Many programs would not run and I
got a plethora of error messages. So I did the dramatic -
I used Symantec SystemSuite4 to erase and reformat the
hardrive and tried a clean install of the XP software.
While installing I got several error messages telling me
that this and that file could not be installed. When it
finally got to the point of rebooting and continuing the
install I got this error message lsass.exe - system
error "The specified image file did not have the correct
format, it did not have an initial MZ" Like I know what
the heck that means !!!! I would click on the OK button
and the machine rebooted and went back to the same error
message - starting a very annoying loop. Why can I not
complete a simple clean install of the XP software.
Someone please help - calling tech support does nothing
but create a big phone bill while I spend my most
productive years on hold - trying to get through online
to the support sight is like trying to hack into the
pentagon computer. I NEED HELP !!!!
