Problems reinstalling XP Pro

So I had some issues with Vista RC1 running smoothly, so I tried to reinstall
XP and I keep getting BSODs. 0X000000A5 0X0000008E, but i dont know why. When
i did driver updates for RC1, i updated my nvidia nforce4 for my Asus
A8n32sli board, and i'm wondering if that is the reason i'm getting these
problems.

I've deleted the partition and recreated it several times, trying to install
on fresh partitions each time, but to no avail. I have also tried using F7
during text mode trying to install to make sure the standard ACPI driver was
around, but then it gives me the 0X0000008E error.

So I'm pretty much lost on what to do, I dont know if I need to reinstall
the old versions of the nVidia nForce Forceware, or how to do that if thats
the case; or to just try unintalling vista, and reinstall again.

Can anyone figure this dilemma out?

Thanks much.

Hi,

You mean, you want to install a clean Windows XP Pro into your system and
completely delete the Windows Vista RC1?
I am a bit confused about your question. Anyway here's how to install a
clean Windows XP Pro into your system.

1. Boot your Windows XP Pro cd.
2. Delete existing partitions.
3. Select the Unpartitioned Disk for you to install Windows XP Pro at.
4. Format it using NTFS.
5. Install Windows XP Pro, follow further instructions.

Hope this is what you intended to know.

You will have to create a new partition before formatting. If you still run
into problems you may have to do a fixmbr from recovery console the next
time you reboot and if you have a Dell computer with a hidden recovery
partition you will have to contact Dell helpline for instructions. Your
video drivers are not your problem.
