Hi all....
I have several external USB hard drives. Occasionaly, Windows does
not see one of them when I boot the computer. If I unplug/power down
the drive, then plug it in or power it back up, Windows finds it as an
unknown USB device. Only solution seems to be to power down the
machine, power down the drives and reboot but not even that fixes it
reliably. Worse, sometimes Windows stops recognizing one of the
drives when the computer is in use - then "delayed write failure"
errors and all sorts of other errors stop. Unplugging / plugging the
drive back in results in unknown USB device again. Any suggestions?
There doesn't seem to be any info for these events being written to
the event log, so I am stuck. So far, this has happened to three
different drives.
