Hi

I have recently acquired a new computer with WinXP Pro.
The problem I am having is that most of the time, when I
attempt to copy files off a CD, a couple of files get
copied, my cd rom starts spinning down and my computer
reboots. I have tried installing another CDROM Drive, but
the same problem occured. For interests sake, I installed
Win 2000 Pro, and had no such problems. Put XP back on,
and the problem returned. Is this a known issue with XP?
Is there any patch/solution for this problem?

Thanks

Start> Run> eventvwr.msc
That will bring up Event Viewer. Look in the System and Application
branches for warning and/or error messages. Double click on them to get
more detailed information.

PS: I have not seen this problem on any of my XP systems. If heat was a
problem the system would probably shutdown instead of restart. Dodgy RAM, a
troublesome driver or a program error are more likely causes for restarts.
