I have a peer to peer network running windows 2000
professional with a total of 5 computers; an Epson LQ-570
and HP OfficeJet as parallel printers. I added a Lexmark
X73 with a USB connection, and although it prints anything
perfectly from a Windows program, when I try to print from
the Command Prompt with DOS, it won't print.
It says "printing" and shortly afterwards it
says "deleting", and nothing happens.
For both parallel printers, I wrote a batch file with the
following commands:
"Net use LPT1 /Delete"
"Net use LPT1 \\server\shared printer"
When I use "LPT1" or substitute "USB001" for "LPT1", it
still doesn't work.
Is there a special command for a printer connected to a
USB port? Is there any way to have the printer work from
DOS?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank You,
