Hi Richie,
Before you update your drivers, I recommend that you update DirectX
from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
Please look over the ATI articles about their latest driver on the download page.
They list Installation Tips, Fixes, and Release Notes with important information.

| Hi Jimmy,
|
| Yes, I am out of "sweat mode" now but still have the problem of the BSOD
| when trying to run a game of any kind. Unfortunately, there is no error
| report on the BSOD only the blank blue screen.
|
| Upon reboot I get the KernelFaultCheck error as Windows has recovered from a
| serious error.
|
| Obviously I cannot rollback as then I go back into "sweat mode". But upon
| thinking and going on advice from everyone - I looked up the website of the
| manufacturer which is ATI as I have two ATI Radeon X300 cards on the MCE PC
| and they have drivers which are listed as version 7.0 where the driver
| version I updated to last was 8.xxx etc from MS updates. Also, ATI say that
| you must uninstall your current drivers prior to installing the latest driver
| from them. If I go ahead with this will I run into problems after the
| uninstall and prior to the installation of the v7.0 driver.
|
| Or someone suggested that it may be the DirectX and that it should have the
| newest version. I currently have DirectX9.0c - I thnk thats the latest
| version. What do I need to do to get this problem sorted ???
