I run a small office in my house consisting of 4 pc's networked together. I
recently ran a norton scan on the MASTER pc which showed up a gaobot virus
which i quarantined.I swiched of the master pc and then re ooted it, To my
horror the pc will not progress past the log in user name screen as on the
right side of this screen my user names are no longer there , the only icon i
can select on the screen is turn off computer, I have tried pressing ctrl +
alt = del and when i do this my pc asks for a username and password and i
do not have any passwords stored in this pc. i have also tried entering
through last known good config and all the other options in there ie:safe
mode etc but still no joy i simply cannot pass my log in screen. I do not
wish to format as i have important information on this pc. is there anyway
to get past this problem
Thankyou Billy

Hullo there - i'm no pro ( in fact i'm a total donut) - but if you press F8
repeatedly while booting up - it'll take you into a main boot screen - choose
safe mode and click administrator - you can then access user accounts and
change or delete passwords. Then reboot as normal. It certainly worked for
me. I'm sure the geeks out there are puking onto their keyboards at my
amazing lack of insight and knowledge!
All the best.
