Problems loading up

When I start up my computer I get through the anti virus
scan successfully, then get a message saying

Write Protect Error writing crive C:
A Abort, R Retry, F Fail

and cannot load up windows

Is this likely to a Bios problem or a more major hard disk
error.

(too hot) Is the cpu fan running
