I have a Belkin Wireless Router/DSL mode

Desktop was connected via cable to the router and wireless card in laptop both running win 98SE - all work ok with file and internet sharing after some problems with outgoing e-mails but this was cured with a router firmware upgrade

I have now introduced another desktop computer running XP - file sharing works but cannot access the internet

In order to introduce the new PC I reconfigured the network: Original Desktop that was connected via cable to the router now has a wireless PC card installed. The router is now connected via cable to the new PC running XP

If I turn the XP PC off the other two PCs with wireless Cards work fine through the router with file and internet sharing. When I turn the XP PC on I may be able to access a web site maybe once but after that no access as with all other PCs on the network

I have ensure that the XP firewall is disabled

Can anyone help

Thanks in advance

I have same setup except my old PC runs Windows ME instead of Window98.

I was OK sharing internet, both machines see the internet. But I had problems with PCs seeing each other. i finally found that:

1. Make sure that neither PC is running a personal firewall, I now rely on the Belkin router for that function.
2. Run Netbeui protocol on each machine.

Once I setup Netbeui on both machines I can now see all machines in the workgroup and all shared folders and devices are visible to each PC.

I tried all other tips raised in this forum like making sure that firewalls were disabled and that NetBIOs over TCP/IP was enabled but it wasn't until I loaded NetBeui onto each machine that this started working properly.

best of luck
