I have encountered a prolem intalling Vista Ultimate on a Intel Core 2 Duo
Board populated with 2X 512 Mb DDR2 533MHZ ram Cards . After the intial load
when the system reboots an error comes up stating
" Cannot find /windows/system32/drivers/NTFS.sys" status 0xc0000221.
When I remove any one of the DDR ram boards the system loads correctly. If I
reinstall the board Vista has been successfully installed I get the same
error.

Hi Vincent,

Possible explanations:

a) One stick is bad.
b) The sticks are incompatible with each other
c) Incorrect memory timing settings in the BIOS
d) Trying to use dual channel mode with mismatched sticks

Have you tried running the system with each separately to see if the problem
is specific to one stick? Tried swapping their positions? Run the memory
diagnostic tool while each is installed separately?

Also are the 2 DDR2 dims installed slots 1 and 3 or in slots 1 and 2. Check
your MOBO manual to be sure they are installed in the right slots?
