When i install a USB plug and play game controller and
then go to the test screen to find out if all of the
buttons are working properly, i find that two of them are
not functioning, and yet they work fine on other computers
using the same operating system, so the controller is not
in itself physicaly faulty. Furthermore the game
controller has got the "designed for windows xp logo" on
the box and yet during installation i'am promted with an
interupt strongly recomending me to abort the installation
becouse the device is NOT digitaly signed by microsoft
coroporation.

If the controller comes with a driver (CD or diskette) then the drivers has
to be install before connecting the unit to the PC.

Also, a lot of component manufacturers do not send each and every device
they make to Microsoft for certification. Microsoft want each and every
driver sent to them so as they can test it with XP. Unfortunately,
Microsoft charges a fee for each test so a lot a manufacturers do not bother
send the devices/drivers.

Y.
