We purchased a new Centrios digital/web cam and installed
it and it worked fine. The next day it wouldn't work at
all. We followed the manufactures instructions but there
was no live feed when the camera was connected to the pc.
We uninstalled and re-installed but now it isn't working.
We've done a system restore to the pc and tried re-
installing the camera software but it still doesn't work.
Any solutions as to what the problem might be and how it
can be resolved?

Has anyone else had problems sending email to
(e-mail address removed)?
My msg to Chantel is enclosed in this msg

Good Afternoon,
From previous expierence I've had with installing hardware
in xp a second or third time, I learned the hard way that
when
deleting hardware and its program, I couldn't depend on the
uninstall system. After I ran uninstall, I found I had to
run
a search for all other parts of the program. In my case I
was
lucky that I needed to reinstall my hp scaner. After
running
the uninstall, I ran a search for hp, Hewlett Packard and
the
word scanner. It blew my mind away at how many hits were
made (and I thought removing viruses was bad-lol). I went
through and deleted everything that came up pertaining to
the
scanner. Rebooted and reinstalled the scanner and the
software.
Also, like Win98, keep in mind when uninstalling hardware,
you
have to power down, disconect everything to the web cam,
power back up, search for any other parts of the software,
as I
mentioned above, reboot, powerdown, reconnect hardware and
power back up. The install wizzard should detect the web
cam
and proceed to walk you through the instalation.
Somewhere in xp, there is a list of compatable software,
so be
sure to check that also.
You might want to double check your cable connecting the
web
cam to your pc (usb?). Those cables can go bad real easy.
I hope this helps, now if I can find someone to answer my
question about being stuck in bitmap whenever I save a
picture.
Take Care,
Brian

Do you have broadband? We had problems with our web cam, one day it worked the next
it didn't. We finally disabled the modem and now it works fine; we assumed it was
looking for a dial up which doesn't exist.

Thanks Brian...I'll certainly give that a try. I wish I
could answer your question but my knowledge is very
limited in this kind of stuff. I appreciate your help!
