Problems installing camera with XP

I have a Kodak camera, and a PC running XP. I have
downloaded and installed the software from Kodak to run
the camera, but the problem is, the computer is not
acknowledging the camera exists. I called Kodak, and he
told me I needed a Service Pack, but as far as I can tell,
I have installed everything that Microsoft found for my
PC...and still no luck. Help me PLEASE

try asking this in rec.photo.digital I'm sure I've seen others with
similar problems in there.
