I'm running Windows XP, s.p.2. Have (tried to) downloaded Installer v. 3.1.
Am having problems like others described here, below: Installer constantly
interrupts some tasks like Outlook Express or I.E. and does not allow me
access to others like Office Word or Excel.
I was going to try the Installer reinstall described on John Barnett's
website xphelpandsupport.mvps.org. Opened the command prompt window, entered
"attrib -r -s -h" OK, but when I tried to enter
"c:\windows\system32\dllcache" I got the error message "unrecognizable
command..."
Before proceeding with a full Windows repair install, I'm hoping someone can
tell me the implications of this error message. Thanks. Jim
