hi , every body
i did one mistake before
i opened one accees file ,
accees main menue / tools / security /user level security
wizard . i added a new user with limited permisions . and
my name as admin whith password . then close file
after that , i faced this 3 problems :
1-i failed to open my file as admin , it open only as user
with limited permisions ,
2-when i tried to changed any design in any other files ,
it send me message that : code cannot be run , because u
and another user opening the same
3- i tried to open any other files as open exclusive ,
where should be 4 options : open - open read only - open
exclisive - open exclusive read only , last two options
are hided , only open and open read only are available
i removed access , then installe it again , but the
problems still
who i can solve that ?

1) You are likely NOT joined to the default system.mdw file. Using file
search, find the location of that file, then run the WorkGroup
Adiministrator (in Access 2000 it's under Tools - Database Security ...
otherwise, file search for wrkgrpadm.exe).
2) If you did this while joined to the system.mdw file, then (A) if you're
running A2000 or greater, find and delete system.mdw ... Access will rebuild
it for you next time you open Access or (b) if not, you'll need to get a
copy of system.mdw from the same version of Access (I believe you can get
this off the install cd)

Finally, Access User Level Security (ULS) is a tricky and complex beast. You
can easily lock yourself out of your database if improperly applied.
Download and read-read-read the Access Security FAQ:

thanks for ur advice
i am running access 2000
i found the file system.mdw , i tried to run security
wizard , it didnot accept
i also tried to delate system.mdw , but failed also

You don't need to run the security wizard. What workgroup are you in? In
2000, open Access (not a database, just the program), click Tools -
Security - Workgroup Administrator. What is the name of the workgroup file?
If it's not system.mdw, then find and join that file.

If you are currently using the .mdw file (i.e. you have a database open)
then you won't be able to delete it ... in other words, you must be
completely out of Access in order to do this.

ok , i opened ms access ( the programm ) , tools / securty
i failed to find the ( workgroup ) , there is only using
group accounts ( available groups ) ,
o also , tried to search for file "wrkgrpadm.exe" , it did
not founed .

The workgroup administrator is in Tools, Security menu starting in Access
2002.

In prior versions, you access the workgroup administrator by using
Start, Run and then
wrkgadm.exe

i tried to do what u advised , i didnot found Workgroup
Administratorunder security , there is only user group
levels ,
also i search for file " wrkgrpadm.exe " , i didnot found
it

i failed to find " workgroup adminstratore " under tools /
security , it is only there is " user account group "
i also fail to find the file " workgroup.exe "
it is not found on my disk

You will not find 'workgroup administrator' under tools, security in Access
2000.

Instead find the file named wrkgadm.exe (not workgroup.exe)
