When I make or receive an HTML item - all is fine
When I "forward" that HTML, the 1st line of the body text is indented - not
fine

How do I make it stop automatically indenting. I have tried all the help
resouces available and have sent this to my IT person who can't seem to
resolve the problem either.

If you truly intend to *forward* the original message to another
recipient then configure your e-mail client to forward as an attachment.
That is, attach the original e-mail to your new e-mail. That way, the
next person actually gets the original message along with all its
headers rather than a stripped version consisting of just the body of
the original message but inserted into your NEW message (i.e., the next
person never really does get a forwarded copy of the original e-mail if
you forward inline).

So how do you have Outlook configured to handle replies and forwards
(Tools -> Options -> General tab -> E-mail options)? The best choice
(so you are actually forwarding the original e-mail) is to select
"Attach original message". If you feel compelled to send only an edited
copy of the original message by forwarding inline with the body of your
new e-mail, and to eliminate the indenting (which is just more editing
or the original content), select "Include original message text".

Thank you for your reply which was nicely detailed. But I have already tried
all the usual suspects. The picture of the text for "Include original
message text" looks exactly as I want ... but alas, when I forward - the
first line indents on me. I have researched this personally as much as I
believe I can - there is clearly something else going on that is beyond me.
As explained, my IT person is stumped as well. Where should I turn? Thank
you, Carol James
