Problems getting started

I have video that is already on my computer that I am trying to cut small
pieces out of to save. (i.e. cut commertials out of TV shows).

I am able to import the file and paste portions of it in the timeline, but
randomly the program gives me an error message and freezes on me.

In reading the posts, it seemed that the sister Photo program may have been
causing some issues, so I uninstalled the photo program.

Now I am unable to even import a video file into movie maker.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

==================================
There is no sister program to Movie maker.
Maybe you are referring to PhotoStory 3 but
I'm not aware of any conflicts with it. I would
suggest that you try doing a system restore to
a time before you did the uninstall and see if
Movie Maker begins to work again...then you
could deal with the crashes.
