I have used movie maker 2 to create a slide show of pictures. I like the way it looks but I am not able to transfer it to cd. It keeps giving me an error message that says it does not detect a burner on my computer. My computer came with the dvd burner, and it also had movie maker 1 in it. I downloaded the movie maker 2 every thing works but that . It also will not save on my hard drive as a mpeg file so that I can use another program to put it on cd. I have looked on the web site to see what I could do to fix this problem, but that does not work either. What else can I do to get it to work. I have even tried to remove it totally from my computer and re-installing it but that did not help.

Movie Maker uses the built-in CD recording functionality of Windows XP. In order to use this, recording must be enabled for the drive. In virtually all cases where CD burning won't work, recording isn't enabled. This is true even when other burning applications (like Roxio or Nero) have access to the drive. To verify whether your CD burner has recording enabled:
1) Open Windows Explorer (Ctrl+E on the keyboard)
2) Expand My Computer
3) Right click on the CD drive and choose properties
4) Click the Recording tab
5) Check the box next to Enable CD recording on this drive

After completing these steps, return to Movie Maker and your CD should burn.
