Greetings:

I'm new to the Win2k environment. I recently reinstalled Win2k and lost my previous desktop--including all my shortcuts and folders, etc. I searched and found everything in a directory with my login name on the main hdd under 'Documents and Settings.' Now, there are two instances of my login name under 'Documents and Settings.' The second instance had a series of numbers appended to it by Win2k. Looks like I'm on the system as two different users. How do I go back to being the first user and delete the second?

Thanks in advance for your help.

What you are seeing is the profile directories. You can delete the one not
in use once you have moved all the data out. A good way to figure out which
one you are using is to go ahead and place a file on your desktop and then
find the directory structure that the new file appeared in. Then you can
delete the other one.

You also see this when you create local user set everything up, then join a
domain. In this case you would see 2 dir structures

Hi

As you wrote that you had reinstall your windows 2k. I had also faced
the same problem but was resolved by using file/folder recovery
software. I use Recover4All Professional to solve this problem.

Kindly search for it and download it.

If you face any new problem please rivert.

Thanks
