I tried to forward a newsgroup message but it wouldn't leave my outbox. Got
a error about the connection being interrupted. Outlook is my default mail
server. Newsgroups still use Outlook Express but all mail settings have
been transferred to outlook.

Thoughts?

Which Outbox?
Is Outlook set as your default mail client in control panel, internet
options, programs?
Was Outlook open at the time?

Also do you have a munged email address in the newsreader side of things ?
This causes problems for me sometimes when I try to CC someone on a group
posting as the email address in the Newsender side of OE does not match my
real email in Outlook 2003 or OE.

If you mean by a "munged" email address...one that needs a few letters
removed to work..., the answer is yes to avoid automatic harvesting by
spammers. Are you saying that the email address for the new accounts has to
be the same as a "registered" email address in Outlook?
