Problems during a capture

My DV device is recognised but I can never complete a full capture, I get
maybe 18MB of information (my best effort) then it freezes. Getting quite
frustrated. Wondering if there is anything I can do about this or anyone
else has had a similar problem. Thanks.

Spa1982,

WMM2 is pretty demanding on the system when it is capturing video. The
usual suspects are a full hard drive or badly fragmented hard drive.
You might want to try a free program called WinDV that only does
capturing. It is less demanding than WMM2 and it might be enough.

I agree with Spambucket to some extent.
It could very well be a resources problem causing the crash.
I would defragment the HDD and also take a look at this article by Graham on
the subject.
He lists all the diffrerent things we always suggest doing to optimize your
computer for capturing video with WMM.
