problems connecting remotely

I have XP Pro on RoadRunner cable and am normally behind a
NetGear router. I'm trying to access my computer from my
parent's house, which is using XP Pro as well but on MSN
dial-up access.

When I started having problems, despite correct port
forwarding, I took the connection off the router and put
it strictly on the cable modem. I used CJB.net to DNS
forward and do have it to the correct IP address.

The computer back home is STILL not letting me access
remotely. It's saying "The specified remote computer
could not be found."

HELP!

Do you have the internet firewall turned on in XP Pro? If
you do then it could be blocking the incoming remote
desktop request.

Also, if you are not using Static IP's behind the router, your
computer address might have changed... Check to see what you set up
in the port forwarding matches what your machine is currently set to
(open a command prompt and type in "ipconfig" to see what your
internal IP address is).
