I'm having problems capturing still images (not video) using the TV
component of the MMC. The buttons for still image capture and record (video
capture) appear normally and work normally for only 2-3 seconds after
starting up the TV component. After that they are grayed-out and clicking
on them doesn't do anything. I've tried various image capture settings
(like capture to gallery/file/clipboard) and TV modes but they didn't make
any difference. I'm using S-Video in (the purple dongle), not the TV tuner.
My work-around is to pause the video source for what I want to capture (e.g.
TiVo, DVD) and then exit and restart the TV component. If I'm quick I can
get the image capture that I want.
I'd like to get capturing still images working first, and worry about
recording (capturing) video next, although it seems likely that these
problems are related because both buttons appear at first and are grayed out
at the exact same time.
I have other problems with the TV component, and they could be related.
Basically it's pretty flaky.
