Problems after restore

Can anyone PLEASE help with the following:

A while ago I did a restore on my PC (OS - XP)

I had a 40gb hard drive, with about 10gb used.

Halfway thru restore there was a powercut, when i re-booted - Nothing
I had to re-install XP

Everthing OK but hard drive disk space was showing 20gb used space instead
of 10

I've gone thru every file to find the extra 10gb, which appears to be
duplicate of what I have, but cannot find it on C drive, which is only hard
drive showing in 'my computer'

Someone has said i may have partitioned my hard drive, if so how do i get
into it to put things right.

You may have to reformat and reinstall XP. It usually takes a utility like
Partition Magic to mess with the partitions after the OS is installed.
