Problems after repair install of Win XP MCE

I had to do a repair install of windows a few months ago and have been
having problems every since. After completing the repair, I 1 can't run
Media Center 2 can't run the windows updater and two least important
can't install Macromedia Flashplayer 9 only 7 works. I can get the
updater to work as faras downloading the updates that the computer says
it needs, but the install always fails. The computer had SP2 before
repair but when starting in safe mode. It states that I have only SP1
installed. installing SP2 has been unsucessful Any advice would be
greatly apreciated

Did you install IE7 before the repair?
