After installing Service pack 4 (unfortunatley I chose not
to archive my files to be able to uninstall it) if I try
to print from IExplorer or from Outlook or even go
to "printers" from the settings menu my PC Reboots!!!

Does anyone know of a fix for this?
I don't want to reinstall windows.

Cheers,

I can only sympathize. I just installed SP3, and still
can't select text, and I can't print anything either. I
think the best thing to do is get a fresh copy of Windows
98SE. This OS is just no good!

Cheers,

Take this as a life lesson. Always create archive. You can always delete
the archive at a later date once assured of stability.

Try reinstalling your printer dirvers -- find the latest from your
manufacturer online.

You can TRY from the command prompt sfc /scannow you will need the win2k
CD.

You can see if MS has a hotfix for it. (Not last I looked)

If this doesn't help, Reload windows.

I just had to clean up a server after some post-sp4
printer grief.
The printers folder would open empty until the print
spooler service was stopped\started. even then it
wouldnt print, and the spooler service running led the
system repeatedly into an unresponsive state.

Ultimately I had to delete printers (and corresponding
registry entries) and recycling the spooler service until
it again started functioning (had to remove about 20 of
the 60 defined printers before I got to the 'corrupt?'
one)
then I reinstalled drivers, redefined printers and I'm
back in busines.
FYI..a removal of sp4 failed to solve my problems, as did
its subsequent reinstall.
MS: Yo! win2k rocks, but it appears you have some
spooler\printer issues introduced w/ sp4!
