Problems after downloading updates

Over the weekend I downloaded Microsoft updates to my laptop. (Office 2007,
Vista as operating system) Since then I have been experiencing several
problems in Powerpoint.

1) While I am typing text in a text box, there is an annoying delay before
the text pops up on the screen. This is not happening when I am working in
Word.
2) When I add an animation in Custom Animation, the preview feature no
longer shows the animation I chose -- the text just appears (rather than
e.g., ascending or descending).
3) When I run the slideshow, the first animation on the page appears slowly
and jerkily -- then the rest of the slide animation typically is okay.

I need a smooth running PPT for the many workshops that I create. Help!

Go to SLIDE SHOW >> SET UP SHOW and uncheck the USE HARDWARE GRAPHICS
ACCELERATION. This is one of those casualties of Vista more than PowerPoint.
Vista changed the rules for video cards and now this feature in PowerPoint
creates performance issues. Let us know if this helps things run smoother.
