I created the following dhcp scope

start address : 172.19.104.1
end address: 172.19.107.254
subnet mask: 255.255.252.0

I excluded 172.19.104.1 to 172.19.104.254

for client pc's that need to be static.....

for some reason, the win2k pc's that have a 172.19.104.x
address, are experiencing slow network response time when
accessing the network.....

any suggestions?

thanks

Is there a typo: 104 - 107?
Do you have options 003, 006 and 015 in DHCP-server, Scope options?
Does the ipconfig/all from the clients show that everything is pointing to
the server-IP?

nope its not a type i set it up this way so i can have
more addresses the scope spans all 3 networks (104 105
107) using 255.255.252.0 mask.....this should be ok to
use rite?......

Hi Rob,

I'm not sure about this. Haven't you made a superscope now?
I would think you have to create new scopes: 172.19.104.1-172.19.104.254,
172.19.105.1-172.19.105.254 and so on.

About the slow response time on those clients you mentioned, check the
ipconfig/all. Does everything point to the server-IP?

creating a supercope i one of three options, but i think
resubnetting would be easier to do....at least i thought...

i did try to create three separate scopes, but then i
would get a message appear when i go to create a second
scope example: 172.19.105.1 to 172.19.105.253 is scope one
i created, then when i went to create a second scope,
172.19.104.1 to 172.19.104.253. i would receive the
following message 'the address range and mask conflict
with existing scope... so, i just decided to delete the
existing 172.19.105.1 to 172.19.105.253 scope and then
create the following:

start 172.19.104.1 to end 172.19.107.252
i excluded the following scope for static address in the
current office
excluded 172.19.104.1 to 172.19.104.253
the next scope was excluded because it is in use in an
office down the street
172.19.106.1 to 172.19.106.253

all my goal is to add more clients to the 172.19 105.x
scope and with the current 172.19.104.0 and 255.255.252.0

their should be 4 available networks to me 172.19.105.x
172.19.104.x 172.19.107.x and 172.19.106.x
thanks
