We have a 2-node Win2K3w/SP1 cluster in active-active mode with two virtual
servers used as Print Servers, one normally residing on each physical node.
As per MS Cluster guidance, I add printers to the Print Servers not by going
directly to Add Printers, but, by using Start | Run and typing in the
\\<PrintServerName>, then using Add Printers from that point. This is
supposed to add the printers to the cluster, rather than to the physical
nodes.
Problem is, about half the time, this is just adding them to the physical
node (as evidenced by the fact that they will disappear when the virtual
server is failed over to the other physical node.
I've tried doing this from a workstation, a physical node, and the virtual
print servers themselves, and...sometimes it works fine, sometimes it
doesn't.
Not getting any errors, and unless you fail the virtual server over, they
print, fine.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
