Problems accessing encrypted files

Hi -

I have a file that I encrypted in Windows XP Professional
about one year ago. The file was fine and viewable by me
(the administrator) for several months. Lately, the file
has become inaccessible. When I tried to play it in the
Media Player (which used to work) it gives me the Error
C00D11D2. In addition, I can no longer access the file
in Windows Explorer or unencrypt it. The only thing that
has happened in between that I can think of is that I
updated XP with all of the service pack updates. I
suspect that one of the updates caused my encrypted files
to be unreadable by the new XP, or some bug makes the OS
think that I am not the same user that encrypted them.
Any suggestions?

Do you have the original encryption Certificates? If not, I don't think
there's anyway to access the file without using a third party service that
specializes in this.
