hello,

my probleme can't install winxp on my new system

motherboard Asus P4P800 deluxe
cpu 2.8 Intel
mem Apacer 512
HD Samsung 120gig 7200rpm
cdrom LG 52x
Gcard ATI 9600

every time the system start
create partition =ok
format - ok
start to copy
and after a moment
I receive the error message
can't copy a file because not same
every time it was not the same file
bios upgraded to 1.015
replaced cpu by a more slow cpu
replaced memories
replaced hd
replaced cdrom
replaced graphic card by another type
finally the reseller replaced the motherbord but
no result again

if you have any idea tks

What's the exact error? It has trouble each time copying different
files to the hard drive?
Is the WinXP cd scratched or dirty?
Wash it with shaving cream.
 
no scatch on cd
the cd is new
I try to install on an old sytem with same cd and cdrom
try to copy but error appear after 7% to 10%
very stange
 
Do you have it overclocked at all in the BIOS? Try the "Setup defaults", and
see if this helps.
 
try too slow down all in the bios
change memory from ddr400 to ddr266
bios detect
change cpu from PIV 2.8 to CEL 2.0
replaced hd from Samsung 120 gig to maxtor 40 gig all 7200 UDMA 5

If the hard drive and CD ROM drive are on the same IDE controller, you will have
hassles as you describe above.

not on the same port also I try with win me and
receive a suwin error
I think to return this board again and change to another
mark. I contated Asus but no answer

Shot in the dark.... weak PSU... heats up and power goes down
further... errors.

my 2 cents worth (canadian currency).

j'ai eu ce probleme et pour moi c'était un cpu defectueux; dans votre cas,
comme apparament vous avez changé tous les composants, je testerai avec un
nouveau cd original de xp...

What about replacing the CD-Rom drive?
 
Et oui pas chancheux,
J'ai deux cd originals Xp Fam rien
a faire J'ai meme fait FIXMBR
Juste la marque de la memoire que je n ai pas
changé.
J'ai toujours utilisé APACER
Aujourd'hui j'ai commandé un MB GIGABYTE pour
voir si j'ai le meme probleme .Le board a toutes les meme
fonctions. Ce board ASUS a donc fontionner une semaine mais il gelait
souvent.
QQ dans le groupe parlait de power supply
J'avait essayer un 400w-nothing

J'ai hate de voir- CPU-Memoire ou HD

Try 3 cdrom, also a dvd drive,
I will try another motherboard but not Asus
I suppose the mark of mem.
It is the first time with a stupid trouble
griiiiiiiiiii
