Hi,
we are using an application that is multi language capable. We have an
excel sheet with our menus and the translations, and whenever a new
language has to be added, we get it translated and just add an column
with the translation.
Our app reads this sheet through the excel ODBC driver.
This was not a problem with european languages, also Korean works just
fine. Only Japanes makes some trouble. We have found at least three
characters that are missing and being replaced with a little square
box.
Any ideas what I have to look for? The proper fonts seem to be
installed, also the Japanes language support looks complete. We have
no idea so far whether the XPe or the ODBC stuff (unlikely) or the app
ist faulty.
Another problem is, nobody here in our company understands Japanese,
only one guy knows some of the signs and the basic principles of
different writing styles in Japanese
Thank you in advance for any input on this issue!
