Whenever I log on to Windows XP(Home), I always have to uncheck the "Don't
Allow Exceptions" box in the General tab of Windows Firewall. The box never
stays unchecked and must be unchecked every time I start windows, otherwise
certain programs do not work properly. Windows Firewall is the only firewall
installed on my system, and it is a standalone computer that is not on a
router.

I have considered the option of downloading Zone Alarm, but I am afraid I wil
have to disable the windows firewall everytime I log on as well.

If you install Zone Alarm(as I have), just turn the windows firewall
off. Also,if you are using Norton Anti-virus then Norton also recomend turning
the windows firewall off.

Okay, but the problem remains that I have to turn the firewall off or uncheck
the "Don't Allow Exceptions" box everytime I log on. What could be turning it
back on everytime I log on? I check for spyware/adware/malware/trojans
regularly. Does anyone have any insight into this?
