Hi I have windows XP home edition 2002 with Service pack 2.

Recently I took Nortons Antivirus off my computer which then said I had no
firewall in my security centre.

However when I tried to enable Window Xps firewall it wouldn't work.

On the Firewall in Control Panel. I double click on it and it says.

"Windows firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated
service is not running. Do you want to start the windows firewall Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS) Service.

Yes or No.

I press Yes and it then says, "Windows cannot start the windows
firewall/internet connection sharing (ICS) service).

Can anyone give me some advise on how to fix this.

thanks

You need to completely take off the Norton Software. Go to the Symantec
website and get the removal tool Norton totally stuffs up the Security
Centre and systm restore. Get something better, either paid or free.
