I don't know why you are having difficulties in searching, and I'm not
quite sure what you're using to search. Internet Explorer? Where, on the
web interface? Your headers indicate that you're using the web interface
to post which is the worst way to access these newsgroups. There have
been issues with searching using the web interface in the past.
Instead, use a real newsreader to access the newsgroups and when you
want to search, Google Groups Advanced Search is the best way. It is
very easy to set up newsgroups and my understanding is that Windows Mail
already is set up for the Microsoft newsgroups. Here is information
about newsgroups and using a newsreader. The information about using OE
should be applicable to Windows Mail.
Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you
learn to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows,
but you can use Outlook Express (or Windows Mail) since you already have
