Hi everyone :)

So, i have downloaded the Windows Vista RC1 x32 & x62. (9600)

At the moment im using, Windows Vista Rc1 x32, as the x62 gave me a real
hard time :P Bluescreen ftw !

When i installed the product, i installed it with "key" that is generated on
microsoft web site, when downloading the VISTA copy.

I activated it with no problems, but now 2 days later i get this message box
(popping up very often):

"Windows Activation"
There is a problem with your license so notifications will no longer appear.

You will no longer recive notifications, including those about your lincense
or activation.
To try fix this problem, click one of the links below.
Error:0x004d401
Description:
The security processor reported a system file mismatch error.

Option (Links to what option i have to handle the situation)

-> Validate your product online
-> Contact Microsoft to help resolve this problem.

So naturally i press the "Validate your product online" option link.

I then pop into the windows valdiating site. No problem there.
But when i start to validate, the "popup box" comes again, and there is an
error on "validating"..

I have read this forum up and down (maybe i missed something?) and tried
every way that has been given on this forum.

None of the "commands" in cmd works either. I get and error message with
"persmission denied" (and yes i am using administrator account)

When i for instance type "SLUI" in the command screen, i get this error :

"Licensing Error"
An unauthorized change was made to your license.

To keep your system stable, you must go online and validate that your
software is genuine.

Any1 got any solution for this problem? Or is it me that is doing something
wrong ? :)

Thanks for any help :)

Best regards.

One possibility is that you installed a version of Vista other than
"Ultimate" since the publicly available Product Keys will only activate
Vista Ultimate edition.

I am having this same problem, except i havnt even been able to log in even
once?? Just after an upgrade from WinXP SP2, i cant even log in. It comes up
with the above error message. Help!

Hello Semora

The Vista team will be happy to help you troubleshoot this issue

We have seen some related issues for Vista machines that have Spyware Doctor
4.0 installed - if you have this software installed, try uninstalling and see
if it helps

If not, you can either let me know your email address so that I can contact
you or file a service request (free of charge) on the WGA hotline
at: http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?&c1=509&gprid=9860&; and
let me know what the service request number is

I hope that we can help resolve the issue

Hello Nir MSFT.

My aplogizes for the wait time, for my reply.

I have now uninstalled the Spyware doctor.
And tried activate Rc1 vista 5600 on the web site. And i had the same message.
And suddenly vista went on a "lock down"

So what i did, i rebooted, and went into "safe mode with network" witch
worked even thou VISTA had went on a lockdown. From there i manage to
activate my windows.

So i rebooted again, and started up normally. After an hour or so, this
annoying message came up again.
But as a stubborn person i am, i refuse to give up. So i tried to activate
it again. This time, not by going on the web. But typing "SLUI" in the
command window (as administrator) and BANG, i finally manage to activate it
:)

Must have been the Spyware doctor software giving me a hard time. But
everything seems to be fine now atm :) Looking forward to testing out several
fetures of vista, to see how things are set up :)

Thanks alot for your time to help me/us here. Your reply was really helpfull.

Take care, and keep up the good work.

Best regard.
