Hi, my dad just recently finished building a new computer, which is
our first computer with winxp on it. He wants to be the only admin,
but if he gives me a limited account, I can't even write to the C
drive (only my documents). What we're trying to figure out is if
there's a way so that he can either a) give me some sort of an account
that's inbetween limited and admin or b) make it so all users can
access the C drive. And also, the registry can't be written to either.
Any help?

Hi,

He needs to make you a poweruser. You will be able to install and run
software, but not access system files and effect changes that he likely
wants protected.

Start/run "control userpasswords2"

On the first tab, he should select your account, then click properties. On
the settings tab, he should choose either standard user, or "other" and
select power user from the dropdown. Apply/ok your way back out.
